New Social Media Website Tout Has Promotions For “American Reunion” and “We Bought a Zoo” Dan Koelsch, November 17, 2011 Tout is a new social media website that acts like a video version of Twitter. You can upload 15 second video status updates to your profile to share around the web, and you can follow profiles that you like. The site seems to be making a big marketing push by teaming up with upcoming major motion pictures. Get the details after the break. The promotion for Universal Pictures’ American Reunion is simple enough. Star Thomas Ian Nicholas asks for your feedback on the film’s trailer in a video on the American Reunion Tout profile. If you reply with your own Tout video, one of the film’s stars could reply back to you.20th Century Fox takes things a bit further with their upcoming drama We Bought A Zoo. As reported by THR, Tout and Fox have teamed up to bring early screenings of the film during the Thanksgiving weekend, a whole month before it officially opens in theaters. Considering this looks to be a family film, this is a smart idea. We’ll update you when there is more information on these screenings, since as of right now there are no details available. It’s a promising start for Tout, which is taking a big risk leaping from text and image-based social networks to a purely video one. Even Shaq is on there. What do you think of Tout? Will you use it, or does it just seem like a gimmick that will fade? Social Networks Viral Marketing American ReunionToutWe Bought a Zoo
