Help Kickstart a “Grimm Fairy Tales” Animated Series Caleb Hamilton, March 21, 2012March 21, 2012 Zenescope Entertainment’s flagship comic book series, Grimm Fairy Tales is nearing it’s 75th issue. The series is the longest running, independent color comic being published today. Seeing how successful the series is, Zenescope wants to take Grimm Fairy Tales to the next level, making it more than a comic book. And now with a little help from Kickstarter.com and you, Grimm Fairy Tales can become an animated TV series. Find out more after the jump.Zenescope Entertainment has been trying to turn Grimm Fairy Tales into something more for years. Different studios and producers had shown interest, but a deal never came to fruition. So who else could the company turn to to try and get an animated TV series off the ground? The fans, of course! Zenescope recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise the money to produce a pilot for the series. For those of you who don’t know, Kickstarter is a site where creators can go and raise money for their projects. It’s almost like a gameshow (perhaps Jeopardy!), because if the creator doesn’t raise enough dough to meet their goal amount before time runs out, they get no money. In exchange for patrons’ money, creators offer incentives based on how much someone decides to pitch in.So, back to Grimm Fairy Tales. The crew at Zenescope met Jon Schnepp, director of animated shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Bros. and Metalocalypse. Schnepp will be working with TitMouse Inc., a premiere animation studio that does a lot of work on Adult Swim shows (like the ones Jon directs).Check out this video where Jon Schnepp introduces you to several key players behind Grimm Fairy Tales: The Animated Series. And also get a quick run down of a few of the rewards you can get by donating! This sounds like a pretty cool project! At press time, they’ve only received 12% of their goal of $175,000 and there’s only 41 days left to help fund the project! Head on over to the Kickstarter page to learn more about the project, get a complete list of donation gifts as well as donate! If they don’t get $175,000 by 6 PM EDT on May 16th, there won’t be a Grimm Fairy Tales animated series. Social Networks Viral Marketing Grimm Fairy Tales The Animated SeriesKickstarterViral marketing
