DC Comics Uses Match.com to Promote Superman-Wonder Woman Pairing Alex Gerage, August 28, 2012 The comic book world was shaken briefly last week when Entertainment Weekly’s Shelf Life blog revealed DC Comics’ cover to Justice League #12, which featured Superman and Wonder Woman locking lips in a heroically intimate embrace. Comic fans have speculated the extent of their relationship, which is expected to be revealed in full when the book is released this Wednesday. In a clever bit of viral marketing, DC Comics has apparently set up Match.com profiles for the two heroes, which you can view after the break.The Match.com profiles for both Superman and Wonder Woman contain a number of subtle references to the characters’ histories that die-hard comic book readers and casual fans alike should notice. While I doubt such a move will impact sales in anyway, it’s a fun little exercise in the creativity and opportunities the internet provides to help hype an already noteworthy story.In addition to the profiles, the Match.com blog covered the hookup with an in-depth analysis from the site’s Chief Scientific Advisor, Dr. Helen Fisher, who explained why she felt such a super-powered relationship could last.
