“World War Z” Releases Fake PSA That Leads To Viral Site Christopher Moore, May 16, 2013 The upcoming zombie film World War Z has released a fake public service announcement about the movie’s deadly viral outbreak. Check out the video and the site it leads you to after the break. With much of the marketing push focusing on Brad Pitt versus mega-fast zombies with an ant horde mentality, the film’s new marketing video is an altogether different approach. Shot like a normal PSA, it focuses more on the viral outbreak and how it’s affecting the world. Check out the video below: If you noticed at the end, it invites you to check out the UK site, crisiszero.com. This World War Z tie-in site continues the public service approach with simple tips on how to protect yourself and your loved ones. Of course, many of these tips convey the severity of the zombie situation with advice like “Don’t call emergency services. No help is coming.” or “Leave everything behind. Abandon everything and everyone.”The top of the site even shows the current human population and a countdown to functional extinction (aka a countdown to the movie’s release.) The site also allows you to use your Facebook account to alert up to three friends of Crisis Zero and encourage them to join you in a safe zone. You can check out crisiszero.com and all its panicky goodness for yourself. The movie’s official site is worldwarzmovie.com.
