New District 9 Concept Art Iain Welford, October 21, 2009October 27, 2009 UK magazines Total Film and ImageFx have today revealed some interesting never before seen concept art for District 9. With the film released in the cinema a couple of months ago and the DVD release due on December 29th, it’s good to see there is still a trickle of new images and trivia from this brilliant movie. The first picture shows the prawn in detail although there is no information on what the markers are. The second picture shows the awesome bio suit and looking at the main body of the mech in this concept art makes it far more apparent where they got the “prawn” moniker from. It’s basically a prawn with arm and legs! Last of all is an excellent piece of art showing the tagging of aliens with their serial numbers. This is definitely my favourite piece and it’s obvious the amount of prep that has gone into it. What do you think of the concept art? Hopefully this won’t be the last before the DVD release, so keep your eyes peeled! You can pre-order the District 9 Single-Disc Edition DVD, District 9 Two-Disc Edition DVD, or District 9 Blu-ray now from Amazon. News District 9
