Iron Man 2 News Round-Up: Crossover Cameos and Reshoots? Dan Koelsch, January 19, 2010January 19, 2010 While we wait for news of anymore viral for this summer’s Iron Man 2, there’s a couple of interesting stories and theories circulating the web worth mentioning. First of all, Variety reports that S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) will make an apperance in both Iron Man 2 and Thor, which just started shooting recently. There is also speculation that Robert Downey Jr. himself may make an appearance in Thor. Find out the reasoning behind the speculation after the jump. The inclusion of Coulson (say that three times fast) is just another example of Marvel Studios creating a single universe with its projects. As many know, the studio’s plan is to have the main characters in the Iron Man, Captain America (releasing next year), Thor, and Hulk movies to join forces in an Avengers movie. All the movies are designed to set up this fateful collaboration of superheroes. Thus, many of the characters cross over. Downey Jr. had a Hulk cameo, and Samuel L. Jackson (as Nick Fury) will be at least in the Iron Man sequel and Avengers movie. So, of course this leads to the question of what other cameos we can expect to see in the upcoming Marvel movies. We may have gotten a hint at that during the Golden Globes this Sunday. Robert Downey Jr., who won a Globe for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, showed up to the event sporting his signature Iron Man goatee (see above). Why is this surprising? Downey usually shaves it off when he’s done filming. Could he be doing a cameo in Thor, which, as we mentioned, is now shooting? Or could he just be doing reshoots for Iron Man 2? While it’s possible, director Favreau’s recent tweet, and a statement by Paramount seem to contradict that. Why do you think Downey has the goatee? Also, who else would you like to see cross over into the other Marvel films before Avengers is released? Source: JoBlo and Chud News AvengersIron ManIron Man 2Thor

‘Tusk’ Clip: Michael Park Psychotically Recites “Itsy Bitsy Spider” September 19, 2014September 19, 2014One of the things that I liked about Kevin Smith‘s Tusk is Michael Park‘s performance, which was bizarre and crazy rolled into one. Everything after the second act seems to fall apart, but it is Parks that manages to hold the film together. Now if you are still deciding on… Read More
“Oblivion” Review: Joseph Kosinski Recycles, Reuses, & Repurposes Familiar Sci-Fi Elements April 18, 2013April 18, 2013Getting that aching feeling that a film is a retread or just grabbing bits and pieces from previously similar titles is nothing new in this day an age. Not that it should be a cause for concern or anything, but it’s more or less what Joseph Kosinski’s Oblivion is. The… Read More
What Marvel is doing is basically brilliant. Sure Coulson isn’t a comic book character, which is fine but he’s an amazing original character, easily being one of my favorite parts of Iron Man. It was good seeing him in (500) Days of Summer, the guy is a great actor. I can’t wait to see him in Iron Man 2 and Thor and whatever else Marvel movie he’ll be in.
