Picture Slowly Being Revealed on Tron Legacy Zero Hour Site

Dan Koelsch, February 18, 2010August 17, 2010

Update: It’s actually text, not a picture. You can currrently make out a few random letters.

As the countdown on the Tron Legacy Zero Hour site gets closer to February 24th, we’ve gotten a lot of updates on the viral. Today we have a new tidbit regarding that site that may shed light on what the countdown is really for.

The speculation has been that the Zero Hour coded countdown is leading to a new trailer for the Tron sequel. While that may be the case, a new development on the website shows what seems to be a picture slowly being built, pixel by pixel, right below the countdown (see above). The rate of the picture’s completion looks to fit with the countdown time frame. Could we be getting just a photo after all of this? it seems unlikely, so maybe the picture will just be a representation of what we will get. Or, the photo may reveal a big plot point or cameo. It’s really up in the air right now.

We’ll update you as soon as we find out more, including when we can finally tell the what the picture is. For more information on Tron Legacy, due out in theaters in December, check out our Viral Page.

    Since they’re blue pixels I think it’s going to be text. Perhaps leading to another page like /zerohour.

    Can’t help but wonder if it’ll be straight English or a code that must be unscrambled. I’m wondering if we’ll be lucky enough to get the trailer this coming Wednesday or if they’re gonna continue stringing us along… ~sigh~ Guess we’ll see!

    The text updates itself approximately once per minute. The changes appear to be minute. It appears there are four lines of text. There are only two (possibly three) groups of two letters so far. No groups of three yet.
    One group (with * replacing blanks) is “N*W*YO”. Possibly “NEW YORK” or “NOW YOU”. Pure guess work.
    Anybody has any guesses as the letters appear, post ’em!

    I think at least part of it is a list of cities:
    I can already see New York, Orlando, London, and Philadelphia, amongst others.

    Pure brilliance Cody!
    The second line does seem to contain: Orlando, New York, Philadelphia
    And the fourth line ends with: London
    Can’t make out anything else yet, but you seem spot on so far.

    -sob- Just realized this makes it highly unlikely we’ll be getting a trailer on Wednesday. Still holding out hope, but…
    Seems like it’s gonna be puzzle time. Interesting so far, but I think we all had (have) high hopes for a trailer.

    I can wait a couple weeks…as long as I get to attend whatever Tron related events this puzzle may lead up to. I also realllllllly want one (or all 3) of those bit toys!!!!

    Yeah, I want my own bit too. (“No! No! No!” 🙂 )
    Here’s a couple more cities for line two:
    Orlando – Atlanta – ??? – San Diego – New York – Philadelphia – ???

    It’s coming together… slowly but surely!!!

    More cities. #=line number. ???=unsure
    1= ??? – ??? (Denver?) – ??? – ??? – ??? – Washington D.C.
    2= Orlando – Atlanta – Raleigh – San Diego – New York – Philadelphia – Toronto
    3= ??? – ??? – Nashville – Chicago – Salt Lake City – Los Angeles
    4= San Francisco – Portland – Seattle – Las Vegas – Phoenix – London

    What the heck does it all mean?!?!
