Tron Legacy Site Reveals Cities, But Why?

Dan Koelsch, February 19, 2010August 17, 2010

Update: The list of cities has been updated to include the missing city and to replace one.

As we reported yesterday, the Zero Hour website for Tron Legacy not only has a coded countdown, but also a block of text slowly being revealed. Now we know that the text is a list of cities, though the reason for this is still unclear. Thanks to Film Edge, we have almost all the cities figured out. Check out the list after the jump.

SYDNEY DENVER MADRID PARIS BOSTON WASHINGTON DC ORLANDO ATLANTA RALEIGH SAN DIEGO NEW YORK PHILADELPHIA TORONTO AUSTIN MINNEAPOLIS NASHVILLE CHICAGO SALT LAKE CITY LOS ANGELES SAN FRANCISCO PORTLAND SEATTLE LAS VEGAS PHOENIX LONDON

There’s still one more city to figure out, though we know it has a D and R in the name. The real question is, what do the cities mean? Are these locations of more viral events? Are we still getting a trailer like everyone has suspected? May it’s both: There’s a new trailer or footage, but you have to be in these locations to see it (like at a theater or something). There is also the possiblity that more words could be in the block of text, or that it’s all part of another code.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below. Thanks to reader VanGoghX for the heads up.

I think the second one may be Detroit.

    I’d guess Denver

    MADRID

AD, the third one is Madrid

    I think Hamid’s right. #2 is Denver.
The four lines should be fully revealed well before the four days and sixteen hours (as I’m writing this) timer finish. Two days at the most would be my guess.
Gotta hand it to the viral guys at 42Entertainment. They certainly know how to frustrate the masses, but in an entertaining way! (Now send me a bit of my own! Or better yet, a Light-Cycle, Recognizer or my very own Identi-Disc!)
BTW: Thanks for the nod, Dan.

Also, it’s not Indianapolis, it’s Minneapolis

The second one is definitely Detroit

Just got another idea as to what the cities may be…less likely, but perhaps concert locations for the rumored Daft Punk tour. Maybe they’re gonna officially announce it on Wednesday morning

Perhaps a bit out there, but I notice that all these cities have a Disney Store.

Maybe they are going to ship in Tron arcade machines, tying in with Flynns Arcade. highest score and all that jazz.

Just a thought, but it is a Disney film after all.

Didn’t yall get a piece of paper that said states in it. Maybe this is related to that.

have y’all notice that all of these cities are capitals.

That’s not true, actually. Carson City is the capital of Nevada, not Las Vegas. Also, Saint Paul is the capital of Minnesota, not Minneapolis.
