Tron Legacy Viral: Arcade Postcards Being Mailed Out Dan Koelsch, July 1, 2010July 1, 2010 Comic-Con is just a few weeks away, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the Tron Legacy viral campaign has started up again. This week, postcards for various Encom International classic arcade games were sent out to various people, and it looks like they have a code on them. Get the details after the break. Per usual, the Unfiction forum broke the story, as several members received postcards for an Encom arcade game. There are four different postcards for ArcWars, Astro Gunner, Kraz-Bot!, and Vice Squad respectively, and they look to be sent by the Flynn Lives group. Take a look at the picture side of the postcards below, courtesy of FirstShowing. The other side of the postcards have a Flynn Lives return address that is in San Diego and a description of the games featured on said card. There is also a black strip on the bottom that reveals a matrix of white dots under black light. Each postcard has a strip with different orientation of white dots, but what it all means is still unknown. Could it be a code of some kind, including a bar code? Will there be more clues to help us figure it out? Check out Unfiction for the latest speculation. Overlaying the strips doesn’t seem to reveal anything, though it looks like it might be a word or phrase to me. I’m sure the purpose of all this will be more clear by Comic-Con, in which Tron Legacy is expected to have a big presence. Maybe we’ll even be able to play these games during the convention, similar to how Disney set up a Flynn’s Arcade in San Diego last year for Comic-Con. The San Diego return address on the postcards could support that theory. We’ll of course keep you updated on this development.
