Latest Viral Trend: Charlie Sheen Dan Koelsch, March 4, 2011March 4, 2011 In case you didn’t know, actor Charlie Sheen has been in the news a lot lately. After a few scandalous parties became public, he went into rehab, but quickly came back out and started doing interviews where he spewed a lot hatred (mostly towards Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre) and nonsensical rantings to any news outlet that would listen. Thanks to his over-the-top sayings, he has become the latest meme. There’s even an entire section of Sheen’s Wikipedia page dedicated to the events this year, and we’ve posted several viral videos that parody the actor. Just like with any meme, there’s photos, videos, and all kinds of remixes (my favorite mashes it up with Cocaine Bear). Here’s a new video I just found today that mashes up the audio from his interviews into Star Wars. We’ve seen similar trends with Mel Gibson and Christian Bale, as this new age of technology allows for almost everything to be recorded. Sheen seems to be adding fuel to the fire by creating a Twitter account that continues his philosophical rants about being a winner and having tiger blood. However, he shouldn’t be the only one to blame. The guy obviously has some issues, but no one seem to be helping him. In fact, people just want to hear more. Sheen set the world record for fastest time to get a million followers on Twitter, and his account was verified by Twitter before he even started tweeting (read how he did that here). Doesn’t this guy have a publicist or anything? To get the full story on Charlie Sheen’s media binge, check out the Know Your Meme page set up for it. Also check out this funny parody Twitter account for more quotes that Sheen will probably end up saying himself. Editorials Features Social Networks Viral News Charlie SheenTwitterTwo and a Half Men
