FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Heroes Writer and Conspiracy For Good ARG Producer Team Up to Produce New Transmedia Series: The Karada

Los Angeles/Stockholm — Tea4two Entertainment, the production company behind the Emmy Award Winning Alternate Reality Games for The Truth about Marika and the Emmy Award Nominated Conspiracy for Good, in partnership with PGA Award and Webby Award winning Writer Jim Martin, and Furnace Fighter Media, has announced the development of a new transmedia series: The Karada, a supernatural thriller about a young woman, Emma Gossett, who struggles to save the multiverse as realities collapse around her.

The drama series will be a high-quality supernatural thriller about Emma’s struggle to navigate collapsing realities in a story frame that connects the participants/audience to the overarching narrative. The series will follow a strong psychological theme focusing on the uncertainties of collapsing realities: who can one trust and rely on when each shift of the multiverse changes everything? Who will be there for you tomorrow? Who will unexpectedly turn up today? And just how can one navigate all these conflicting and ever-shifting realities? To make sense of the ever-changing conditions, Emma will reach out to the audience to help them solve the mysteries that unfold through time and space.

The primary property of The Karada will be a dramatic series with an interactive digital experience that will be accessible on the web and through mobile devices. An intensive interactive experience that will spill out into the streets on location and for live events is also in the works. In addition, there will be a series of digital comic books, (illustrated by artist Hugo Arias), released throughout the duration of the project that will culminate in a printed graphic novel at project’s end. What sets The Karada apart is that none of these platforms is a simple tie-in or extension. Rather, each component is integral to the total experience – one in which the participants will have a say in contributing to the story. “Community contributions will be taken seriously and matter,” said producer Tom Liljeholm. “For example, participants will be called upon to write in the details of Emma’s alternate realities, the basis of which will be produced into a digital comic series. Further, as our heroine in the dramatic series crosses paths with these alternative lives, participants will feel the true impact of their contributions on the storyline.”

The international production team behind The Karada is quite at home with creating immersive experiences with strong storylines. Jim Martin, who is best known for his work on Heroes’ Web series in which he won two webby awards, met producer Tom Liljeholm while working on Tim Kring and Nokia’s Conspiracy for Good, the darling transmedia project of last summer. Rounding out The Karada creative team is director Jakob Berglund of Furnace Fighter Media, Ki Henriksson, who penned the original concept of The Karada, writer for The Truth about Marika and Conspiracy for Good ARGs, and Tom’s partner in Tea4two Entertainment, and Carrie Cutforth-Young, a writer and multimedia artist based in Toronto.
