Is Ferris Bueller Taking Another Day Off? (UPDATED) Caleb Hamilton, January 26, 2012January 27, 2012 A new viral video has surfaced on the interwebs featuring Matthew Broderick reprising a role from one of his most famous films. The last time we saw Ferris Bueller it was 1986 and he was taking the day off from school. Now, almost 26 years later, Ferris has reappeared (though much older), in a very short teaser for something that is happening on Super Bowl Sunday. Check it out after the break. How could Ferris handle work on a day like Super Bowl Sunday? There are a lot of theories as to what this could be a teaser for. Some are guessing this could be a teaser for a car commercial or a hotel chain or travel site. I thought maybe it could be a teaser for an announcement of a sequel to Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. At one point, Broderick and director John Hughes discussed possible ideas for a sequel, but ultimately decided that the film didn’t need one. I guess we’ll have to wait for the big game to find out what this is teasing.Super Bowl XLVI airs Sunday February 5th, 2012 on NBC. – – – – –UpdateWe just got confirmation from Jalopnik that the video is actually a teaser for a Honda Super Bowl commercial that will mimic the film. They even got The Hangover writer/director Todd Phillips to put it together. Viral Marketing Viral Videos Ferris Bueller's Day OffHondaParamount PicturesSuper BowlSuper Bowl XLVI
