Make Your Next 5K Run A Zombie Infested One Alex Gerage, February 13, 2012 Last night, while watching the premiere of the newest episode of The Walking Dead, I saw a frighteningly awesome commercial for a zombie themed 5K obstacle run coming to Indianapolis. Called Run For Your Lives, it’s an immersive experience that combines the cardio fun of a 5K race with the thrills of avoiding walkers (or lamebrains, however you prefer) in a post-apocalyptic world run by zombies. Hit the jump to see the commercial and for more details about the race, including where else they will be held around the country. The official Run For Your Lives website explains that in addition to the traditional race tees and bibs, runners will wear a belt of flags, not unlike those you would wear during a game of flag football. The flags represent your health, and the goal is to make it through the course with as many flags as possible. To finish, you will have to overcome a series of 12 natural obstacles found during the race course, along with a horde of zombies on your tail who will attempt to take your flags. In addition to Indianapolis, the Run For Your Lives 5K’s are being held in cities throughout the country, including Atlanta, Boston, Denver and more. Be sure to check out their website for the full listing and dates of races. I wonder if the Zombie Survival Camp Trackers Earth offers would help with the preparation? Is the idea of running a 5K scary enough, let alone a zombie-themed one? Or have you already signed up?
