Play The Movie Version of “Battleship” on Facebook Dan Koelsch, April 8, 2012 While the Universal Pictures sci-fi action flick Battleship may bare little resemblance to the Hasbro board game it is based on, that doesn’t mean the two can’t merge. The Facebook game Battleship: The Battle For Earth Begins At Sea lets you play the classic strategy game with your Facebook fans using new vessels featured in the film. Like many of these movie games, the goal is to do well enough to move up the leaderboard and gain achievements, which unlock video clips from the upcoming film. The Facebook app also links you to other Battleship games online, including Classic Battleship on Hubworld and Battleship Fleet Game on Hasbro.Battleship: The Battle for Earth immerses users in the film using 3D assets, along with sound effects, music and clips. Fans have the option to play as either Humans or alien Regents and points are tracked on both sides to unlock exclusive clips from the film. Place your ships, take your turn and fire! A direct hit is accompanied by on-screen explosions on the 3D board. Challenge a friend, or start a game against a random player.
