TrailersWeekly

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we have trailers for Short Term 12, Insidious Chapter 2, Runner Runner, and Frozen Ground.

Short Term 12
This beautiful powerful film starring Brie Larson as a supervisor at a foster care facility for at-risk teens debuted over at SXSW earlier this year. There are hints of comedy to keep the film from being too dark, but for the most part, it is a powerful film that focuses on selected few that are forgotten or neglected. The film also stars Rami Malek, John Gallagher Jr., Kaitlyn Dever and Keith Stanfield. Short Term 12 opens in theaters on August 23.

Insidious Chapter 2
With how the first chapter of the Insidious franchise ended, fans wanted more, and Film District has responded by giving them what they wanted; more Insidious. James Wan returns to direct this very successful horror flick that was made a very limited budget. Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins and Barbary Hershey all return to reprise their respective roles. Insidious Chapter 2 opens in theaters on September 13.

Runner Runner
Hot off his huge Oscar winning picture Argo, Ben Affleck returns to the front of the camera to star alongside Justin Timberlake in this gambling plot driven flick where a gambling addicted university student (Timberlake) looks to pay off his huge debt, a result of him being felt cheated by playing online poker. He heads to the south to reclaim his loss and finds the ring leader (Affleck). But he is drawn into the world of gambling but soon finds out this illegal activity has its price. Runner Runner hits theaters on September 27.

Frozen Ground
Based on a true story, Frozen Ground stars John Cusack as real-life Alaskan serial killer Robert Hansen. Nicolas Cage plays an Alaskan State Trooper who is assigned to the case, and comes across a huge lead when one of Hansen’s victims escapes. Vanessa Hudgens also stars. Lionsgate will release Frozen Ground into theaters on August 23.
