SDCC 2013: MTV Announces “Teen Wolf” Panel and First-Ever “Party In the Park”

Caleb Hamilton, June 24, 2013June 24, 2013

teenwolfMTV has been a hub for all things pop culture, but with the rise of comic book movies, MTV has become geekier. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, MTV will host on-air and on the ground events. For the fourth year in a row, MTV will present a panel for its hit series, Teen Wolf. The network will also throw a huge party at Petco Park, where they will do a live taping of Guy Code. Get the details on that and more after the jump!

MTV Geekend kicks off on Thursday July 18th with MTV Comic-Con Live, hosted by MTV News’ Josh Horowitz and MTV Geek’s Steven Smith. Fans will be able to get hourly updates and exclusive reveals from upcoming TV shows and films. Comic-Con Live will feature interviews with the biggest names in movies, TV, comics and video games, while including comprehensive reports from the panels, the floor, the press rooms and the streets all weekend, leading into Guy Code Honors on Sunday night at 8 PM ET/PT (more on that later).

Also on Thursday, Teen Wolf will take the convention by storm. The exact time and location have not been announced yet, however series regulars Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, and Daniel Sharman, along with new cast members Max and Charlie Carver and Executive Producer Jeff Davis. Fans can expect to see new footage and get some inside scoops from season three.

MTV2 is throwing its first Party in the Park at Petco Park on July 18th at 7 P.M. PT, celebrating fans at Comic-Con! Open to all SDCC badge holders, fans will get access to live musical performances, free food and drinks! Also during the party, MTV will be taping Guy Code Honors, an hour-long special saluting the best movies and TV shows from this past year, and giving sneak peeks at upcoming titles. Guy Code cast favorites Jon Gabrus, Jordan Carlos, Damien Lemon and Chris Distafano break down which movies, shows, actors, heroes and heroines rocked the hardest.

On Friday July 19th, MTV Comics will be doing a live pitch competition. Creator Pitch LIVE! pits two of the industries top creators against last year’s winner, David Petersen, to see who can come up with the most original story pitch. The competitors will be given a topic a few weeks before SDCC. Fans will be able to vote on who comes up with the best pitch.

What are you most excited to see from MTV? MovieViral will be on the ground at SDCC again this year, bringing you the latest updates!
