Trailers Weekly: “The Dictator”, “Argo”, “Killer Joe”, “Gangster Squad”, “The Campaign”

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. Today we have trailers for The Dictator, Argo, Killer Joe, Gangster Joe, and The Campaign. Hit the jump to see them all.

Argo
The first trailer for Ben Affleck’s newest directorial effort Argo has appeared online, and if you are fascinated with history then this is just the movie you want to watch. out how the CIA used a fake sci-fi film to rescue Americans during the Tehran hostage crisis. For all the intensity you would think this film would have, there are a few moments where you do laugh in the trailer.

The Dictator
Here is the latest red-band trailer for The Dictator, unfortunately a lot of the jokes just feel repetitive and lack the kind of punch we saw in movies like Borat and Bruno and the latest reviews seem to suggest that as well. We’ll just have to see if the general audience says otherwise.

Killer Joe
When you get a movie that has murder and southern fried chicken, you get a more than a tasty movie. Directed by William Friedkin, Killer Joe stars Emile Hirsch as a young man who hires in shady hitman (Matthew McConaughey) to take out his mother in order to collect an insurance policy.

Gangster Squad
There hasn’t been a since more exciting looking period piece crime drama L.A. Confidential. Public Enemies tried to replicate this same feeling, but failed to do so. Now comes Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad, and it looks amazing. What’s even better is that he was able to gather Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte, Bryan Cranston, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi and more to star in this incredible looking movie.

The Campaign
We also have the first trailer for The Campaign. We’ve recently saw two political attack ads from the movie that lead up to the trailer’s release, but they were mere teases. Nothing says comedy like Will Ferrll punching a baby or Zach Galifianakis shooting an arrow at Ferrell. Honestly this could be a hit comedy in a season surrounded by action blockbusters.
