Comic-Con QR Code Reveals Behind the Scenes Footage and Special Message From I Am Number Four Dan Koelsch, July 26, 2010 QR barcodes are all the rage now, as they are simple and easy ways to distributed coded information, especially since smart phones can usually download reading apps. ARG designers used these for several purposes during Comic-Con this year, including for the 2nd Mass viral. One of the things given away at Comic-Con had such a QR code, which when scanned revealed a website with behind the scenes footage and special message for Comic-Con goers from the upcoming film I Am Number Four. Check out Warbasse Design's (http://www,warbassedesign.com) campaigns for the Iron Man sequel and HBO's Trueblood series. Movie and TV previews are probably the best initial use for QR Codes. Big brands will follow, but entertainment companies are taking the lead.
