“The Dark Knight Rises” Prologue with “Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol”? Caleb Hamilton, October 19, 2011October 19, 2011 It has been a few months since we’ve seen any official footage from Chris Nolan’s final entry in Batman’s saga. In the trailer’s wake, we’ve been bombarded with leaked set videos and pictures, spoiling plot points. But for those of us who have been fighting temptation to look at said set videos and pictures, the wait may soon be over for another official look at this masterpiece. Read on for the details!Earlier, SlashFilm reported that a 6-minute prologue of The Dark Knight Rises would play before IMAX prints of Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol. Warner Bros. made a similar move back in 2007 when they attached the opening sequence of The Dark Knight to IMAX prints of the Will Smith thriller, I Am Legend. It is not certain which scenes will be shown, but one can assume that whatever is shown will have been shot in IMAX. Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol will open on December 16th on IMAX screens and on December 21st on regular screens.Even though Mission: Impossible is a Paramount Pictures release and The Dark Knight Rises is Warner Bros, this venture would be beneficial to both studios. M:I4 is this year’s biggest (true) IMAX release and having the TDKR prologue attached would definitely mean that more people would see Ghost Protocol in IMAX just for the prologue, getting those audiences much more excited for the final Batman film.If you were, or if you weren’t planning to see Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol, does this make you want to see it in IMAX now?The Dark Knight Rises is still in production and is rumored to be heading to Wall Street when the production moves to New York later this month. It opens in IMAX and conventional theaters July 20th, 2012.Source: SlashFilm News Viral Marketing Chris Nolanmission: impossible 4The Dark Knight RisesWarner Bros
